FAQ

Do you take commissions?

I will take costume commissions, which can be ordered through Jules & Gemma's Fashion & Cosplay. I will also take custom My Little Pony commissions. You can e-mail me at farasha@desertcatpro.com to inquire about those. I do not, however, take art commissions.

Do you do art trades?

I love art trades! Drop me a line and I'll see what we can work out.

Can I sell prints of something you draw for me?

Short answer: no. Long answer: if we enter into a legal agreement regarding the rights to the work, and it stipulates that you have the rights to sell, reprint, trade, burn or stomp on the work, yes. But that's a ton of paperwork that I don't particularly want to deal with.

Can I get a hard copy of something you draw for me?

I am more than happy to ship any originals I have, on the stipulation that you pay all mailing fees. I will only mail art with FedEx, not the USPS.

Are you going to be published/where can I buy your books?

All things go well and all the little gods favor me and yes, I will be published someday. You can be sure that when I am I will be screaming it from the rooftops, and there will be giant, sparkly, flashing text on the main page with all relevant information.

Can I print out your stories to keep?

I think the relevent question here is, how can I stop you? If you would like to print my stories to keep them for yourself, you absolutely may. You may not sell them, redistribute them, read them at open mic nights, send them to a publisher or anything else of the kind. Some of these stories are actually in print in places, and I will take legal action if I find they made it into print in other places.

Can I use one of your characters in a roleplay?

No. This is a blanket no, it has no exceptions. If/when I am published, then this may change.

Can I write fanfiction based on your stories?

Some of my universes are free to play in. Some of them are not. The Unknown Ones and connected side-stories is an open playground, and so is the PI: Paranormal Investigators arc. Any of my novels are off-limits as far as fan fiction is concerned, at least until they're finished.

Can I draw fanart based on your stories?

Yes! I love fanart! It makes me all warm and fuzzy inside!

Do you sell work in the dealer's room/artist's alley at conventions?

No, I generally do not. I hope that over the summer I can get cracking on a bushel of anime-based MLP customs to sell at conventions, but so far I just don't have the merchandise to push.

What is your con circuit/where can I find you at con?

I travel the summer Texas circuit and the fall/winter East Coast circuits. To find out whether or not I'm going to a convention, the best place to look is my LiveJournal. At the con itself, it's a matter of being lucky enough to run into me.

Will you draw art/make a pony/make a costume for me for free?

No, honey. I have to eat, and buy books, and pay for transportation in and out of New York City. I can take an art trade, and I will take ponies in trade for a custom. Costume commissions are always for cash, though.

You seem like a cool person. Can I friend you on LJ/add you to my IM contacts/e-mail you?

Most certainly you may. I don't guarantee that I will become your everlasting friend, but if you strike up a conversation, I'll answer.
